Printed circuit board is a necessary skill for hardware engineers. To be an excellent hardware engineer, you must first understand some basic concepts related to PCB in order to grasp the core points in the specific design process.
The main function of printed circuit board is to facilitate the electrical connection of components with various shapes and packages.Therefore, the design requirements of PCB are as follows:
1. Fix various packaged components on the circuit board, and connect the signals of each pin of these devices (through bonding pad).
2. Meet the required electrical performance and achieve the original purpose of circuit design when connecting the pins of each device. PCB itself can't cause each signal connection error, noise, distortion and so on;
3.At the same time, meet these requirements such as machinery, processing, heat dissipation, electromagnetic interference.
PCB and PCBA are two different concepts and two different processes. PCB processing is the process of turning design into actual circuit board (bare board without components), which is based on Gerber file provided by engineer. PCBA is the abbreviation of PCB assembly, which is the process of welding and installing components on the processed PCB. PCBA manufacturers soldered components on the PCB board by means of chip mounter and manual welding. But many enterprises not only produce PCB, but also do PCBA business.
